I sell my extra vegetables to help pay expenses. I’ve since quit picking the 400 ft. row and now letting it go into seed for next year’s crop. All I have left in the freezer is about 10 lbs. I have a 50 ft. row that will start producing in a month or so for fresh okra this fall. “Gumbo Season” Our local radio station KLIL puts out “Gumbo Alerts” at the first sign of a cool snap. NO JOKE. Just got to love living out in the country.

OMG, a bushel of okra a day!!! And I thought *I* liked okra, LOL. You must have 3 or 4 freezers full of garden veggies. My okra is now close to 4 feet tall. I’ll probably get my first small mess off of it in about 5 days. Then starting a few days after that the way it looks I should be eating okra almost every day till frost:))) And putting up some as well.

If we want rocks we have to buy them from you folks in the Ozarks. LOL

    Those big plants …
Those big plants you see in the video were never side dressed because I didn’t want them to get as big as last year. If I could have stood them up they would have been 6-8 feet tall. It was a mess trying to get all that out of the cages.
I am side dressing the fall tomatoes (planted in late June) hoping to get a large harvest of late tomatoes. These should really grow.

It’s been very hot and dry the last month or so, had to water just about every week. Watering is fine but a good slow rain seems to help so much more.

    Sometime last year …
Sometime last year I threw some seeds out the door of my shop and guess what ….. this year I had a vine to come up and it made about a doz. or more cantaloupe. Half of the Cantaloupe I plant in the garden this year were from seeds I collected last year.

You’ll be able to tell if yours will make in about 6 weeks you should start seeing some small ones.
