Indoor Composting Tip: Blend Down Your Food Scraps

A great indoor composting tip that I got from one of my grandmother’s friends is to put the food scraps in a blender before putting into the compost.

This helps to break the food down and makes it easier to break down in the compost.

You can put lettuce leaves, fruit peels and anything soft that the blender will break down. Stay away from pits or anything that will get stuck in the blender.

The scraps are then put into the composting bin and covered with shredded newspaper and old potting soil.
