anyone here have a preference: reguar composting vs. worm composting?

please explain your answers. thanks!
WOW!!! all great answers! wish i could give you all 10 pts!!

By regular composting I assume you mean garden and kitchen waste. Worm compost are the casting from the worms. Very rich in nuitrients and add tilth and drainage much faster to soils in my experience than regular compost. You can buy it and you only need to add a small amount over a shorter period of time compared to regular compost. Mushroom compost is another example of very rich compost. It's the ingriedents which goes into the making of the compost which make the difference. Other than that there is very little difference.

regular composting takes a bit more time…worm composting is alot quicker….red wigglers are the best composting worms available…

I prefer a combination of both adding red wigglers to my cuttings and food scraps..

I have to say that I love the quality of worm castings and the speed of their work. Harvesting is a litle more complicated but not difficult.
It does need to be inside tho which is a benefit in that it can be put it somewhere easily reachable but may be difficult to find the space
there is a new ( at least to me ) product that does make it easier than a regular compost bin although it is pricey to start with but the results may be worth it and it certainly is more aesthetically pleasing

I see the have a great new unit that fits in the cabinet.

Outdoor regular composting also has it's benefits in that you can put a bigger variety of products in it but it does take longer to break down and may be more labour intensive to get to as you have to go outside to it.

and here is a good site for outdoor composting

    Each has it's own place.
